I was at a Go Viral! theme hackathon and thought to make a tiktok for games. The closest thing I could think of was WarioWare so I made a clonish of that. Warioware is really impressive if you think about when it was made and their limitations 200+ games on a GBA all with unique graphics and sound. Usually AI is terrible at writing more complex code for games especially if examples do not exist but what if they are 5 seconds long? Maybe it can do it? In the end a lot of games are too hard to win or too easy it's hard to get the game feel right. It's also hard to AI make things winnable or test if it is winnable. The art and sound of this game are all code generated but almost all the code is AI generated. It puts an interesting question if programmatically generated assets (graphics and sound) are ok what about AI that writes a program to programmatically generate them. Is it ok because it is not recreating art from the art itself?
